We aim to handle cancellations fairly. This policy is subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you. Where applicable law gives you a more favourable right, that law takes priority.
1. How to request a cancellation, transfer or refund
Email hello@taokudi-qaacademy.com using the email address connected to your application or enrolment. Include your full name, programme, cohort and the action you are requesting.
We will use the date we receive your request to assess any cancellation charge, amount delivered and refund due.
2. Cancellation before the programme starts
If you cancel at least 14 calendar days before the scheduled programme start date, our standard practice is to provide a full refund of programme fees paid.
If you cancel with less than 14 days’ notice, we may deduct a reasonable cancellation charge where permitted by law. Any charge will be based on relevant circumstances such as the notice provided, costs already reasonably incurred, whether your place can be reallocated and the nature of the service reserved. We will explain any deduction.
We will not impose a cancellation charge where applicable law prohibits one.
3. Cancellation after teaching or programme access begins
If delivery has started, any refund will normally take account of the proportion of services already supplied, live teaching delivered, mentoring or support used, and digital materials or platform access already provided, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Where a refund is not appropriate for the part already delivered, we will still assess whether an amount is due for the undelivered portion. We do not use a blanket “no refunds” rule where consumer law requires a fairer outcome.
Missing an individual class, lab, clinic or mentoring appointment does not by itself create a right to a refund where that service was made available as scheduled.
4. Cohort transfers
Where capacity allows, we may offer a transfer to a later cohort instead of cancellation. A transfer is normally requested before the current cohort starts and is subject to availability, programme changes and any reasonable administrative conditions communicated to you.
Where we agree to a transfer, fees already paid will normally be credited to the replacement cohort. Any difference in programme price will be explained before you accept the transfer.
5. If Taokudi cancels or cannot deliver the programme
If we cancel a programme and cannot offer a suitable alternative that you accept, we will refund the fees paid for the cancelled programme.
If only part of a programme cannot be delivered and we cannot provide a reasonable alternative, replacement session or equivalent remedy, we will provide an appropriate refund or credit for the affected undelivered part.
6. Payment plans
Where you pay by instalments, cancellation does not automatically create a refund for services already delivered. Once a cancellation is approved, we will calculate the amount properly due up to the cancellation date and adjust future instalments or any refund accordingly.
7. Additional rights for eligible UK distance contracts
If you are a UK consumer and you enter into an eligible distance contract with us, you may have a statutory 14-day cancellation period beginning when the service contract is made.
If you expressly ask us to begin providing a service during that period and later cancel before it is fully performed, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to cancellation. If a service is fully performed during the cancellation period after the legally required request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end.
Where separately supplied digital content is made available immediately, additional rules may apply to express consent and acknowledgement before a statutory cancellation right can be lost. We will not treat this policy as overriding those rights.
8. Refund processing
Once a refund is approved, we aim to initiate it within 10 business days. Your bank, card issuer or payment provider may take additional time to make the funds available.
Refunds are normally returned to the original payment method where possible. Currency conversion differences, bank charges or exchange-rate movements outside our control may affect the final amount received where the original payment involved currency conversion.
9. Exceptional circumstances
Please contact us as soon as possible if serious illness, hospitalisation, bereavement or another significant event prevents you from attending. We will consider reasonable evidence and available remedies, including transfer, credit or refund, and will comply with any consumer-law requirement that prohibits or limits a cancellation charge in the circumstances.
10. Promotional offers and scholarships
If a scholarship, promotion or sponsored place has special cancellation conditions, those conditions will be disclosed before enrolment. Any special condition remains subject to mandatory consumer rights.
