We collect only the information we reasonably need to respond to enquiries, review applications, deliver Academy programmes and operate our website. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Who we are
Taokudi QA Academy is part of Taokudi AI Consulting. In this policy, “Taokudi”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Taokudi QA Academy and the Taokudi business responsible for providing the relevant Academy service.
For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact hello@taokudi-qaacademy.com.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It may include:
- Application and enquiry information: name, email address, WhatsApp or telephone number, location, current role, career goal, programme interest and any information you include in your message.
- Enrolment and transaction information: programme, cohort, fees, payment status, billing details and transaction references. Where card payments are used, full payment-card details are normally handled by the payment provider rather than stored by Taokudi.
- Learning information: attendance, assignments, quiz or assessment results, project submissions, feedback, mentoring notes, QCC/LMS activity and completion records.
- Communications: emails, WhatsApp messages, support requests, survey responses and other correspondence with the Academy.
- Technical information: IP address, browser/device information, server logs, referral information and security logs generated when you use our website or online services.
- Preferences: choices such as your selected display currency and, where you opt in, your marketing preferences.
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary. If you voluntarily provide sensitive information, we will handle it only for the purpose for which it was provided and in accordance with applicable law.
3. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide requested information;
- review applications, assess programme fit and contact applicants about next steps;
- create learner accounts, deliver training, projects, mentoring and career-support services;
- administer payments, invoices, cohort transfers, cancellations and refunds;
- operate QCC, the LMS and other learning tools used as part of the programme;
- monitor service quality, improve Academy content and maintain appropriate records;
- protect our website, systems, learners and business from misuse, fraud or security threats;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations; and
- send marketing or programme updates where we have an appropriate legal basis and you have not opted out.
4. Lawful bases for processing
Depending on the activity and applicable law, we may rely on one or more of the following bases:
| Purpose | Typical basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to an application or enquiry | Steps requested before entering a contract and/or legitimate interests |
| Delivering an enrolled programme | Performance of a contract |
| Payments, accounting and legal records | Contract and legal obligations |
| Service improvement, security and fraud prevention | Legitimate interests, balanced against your rights |
| Optional email/WhatsApp marketing | Consent where required, or another lawful basis permitted by applicable law |
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Who we share information with
We may share information only where reasonably necessary with trusted service providers that help us operate the Academy, such as website hosting, email, payment, video-conferencing, learning-management, cloud-storage, analytics, security and support providers.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to professional advisers, to protect legal rights, or as part of a legitimate business restructuring. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
International transfers
Some technology providers may process information outside Nigeria or outside your country of residence. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism or other lawful safeguard.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution needs.
- Unsuccessful or incomplete applications are generally retained for up to 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner or a longer period is justified.
- Programme, contractual and financial records may be retained for the programme period and afterwards for the period reasonably required by applicable legal, tax, accounting or dispute-resolution obligations.
- Marketing preferences are retained while you remain subscribed and may be kept in a suppression record after opt-out so that we can respect your preference.
- Technical logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and service operation.
7. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law and any permitted limitations, you may have rights to:
- be informed about how your information is used;
- request access to your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion or restriction of processing;
- object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request human intervention in relation to certain solely automated decisions; and
- complain to an appropriate data-protection authority.
To exercise a right, email hello@taokudi-qaacademy.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond without undue delay and, where the Nigeria Data Protection Act applies, ordinarily within the applicable statutory timeframe.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should also protect your account credentials and devices.
10. Children
Academy programmes are primarily intended for adults. If you are under 18, please contact us before applying so that we can determine whether the programme is appropriate and whether parent or guardian involvement is required.
11. Contact and complaints
Privacy questions or requests can be sent to hello@taokudi-qaacademy.com.
If you are in Nigeria and believe your data-protection rights have been infringed, you may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. If another privacy law applies to you, you may have the right to complain to the regulator in your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, technology or legal obligations. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.
